This is a continuation of my blog posts about the book, “Punk Science”.
Some scientists believe that all of the big questions about the universe have been answered, but others say that there is so much we still have to discover. It is like the old school against the new school.
The old school are the Newtonian or Cartesian scientists. They have a very mechanical view of the universe and all of life. They see the universe as a big clockwork machine of many parts following a constant universal clock.
The new school view of the universe started when Einstein discovered that time is relative to the speed that you are traveling. There is not one universal time. The new science goes way beyond the mechanical view of the universe. Quantum physics has shown that our thoughts influence matter and events. Their experiments raise questions about consciousness, the nature of reality, the origins of life, paranormal events, and all of life.
